It takes longer to get there and burns more fuel. This also includes 300 live bait instead of the 200 live bait. If the trip is booked May 15 through August 31 there is no need to do an 8 hour trip, unless you just want to fish Chandeleur Island a LA fishing license is required. I recommend 2 rod and reels per person on wade fishing trips, you must bring your wade fishing clothes (waders for Sept-April), wade boots/tennis shoes, and dry clothes for the end of trip A $100.00 charge will be added for trips where we provide lunch, snacks and soft drinks there is an additional charge for trips that depart from locations other than our dock I also recommend, if you are not an experienced wade fishermen- this trip is NOT for you. This is a hard trip at times. You may sink to your knees in mud and you may be required to walk a lot. It is a place were the locals hang out. Smugglers Cove is a place to just sit back and enjoy. Many people enjoy collecting shells, taking long walks and enjoy exploring sea life (horseshoe crabs, dolphins, hermit crabs turtles and much more). Come and enjoy the beautiful white sand beach. This trip can be enjoyed by couples, families or group of friends. It is an 8 hour trip which includes a 35 minute trip to and from the island. The boat will anchor within walking distance to the island (right on the shore line). This will allow you to walk back and forth to the boat.
